Hi
Well it's half-term hols for my young ladies this week so I'm only working a few hours, as I've promised them all kinds of treats! I spent the afternoon sitting in a jacuzzi yesterday watching them shoot through water plumes. It's so much fun when they get that bit older and you can RELAX more!
If you've been with me for a while you'll know what a voracious reader I am. I have so many books and courses on the go that sometimes I wish I could EAT them and just KNOW it all right there and then!
Anyway it's been a while since I shared an inspiring book with you so I want to put that right. I've discovered a fab new author called Geoff Thompson. I realised I've been keeping him secretly all to my self ... He's a Brit who writes mega little books that are a cross between self help and think and grow rich.
The mindset element of our marketing is SUCH a major piece of the puzzle so I want to encourage you (I know you might not need any encouragement - just a few good titles!) to keep on feeding your mind each and every day.
I've zipped through a couple of Geoff's books but the one that's hit home with me the most so far is the 'Elephant and the Twig.'
What an amazing little book to read first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Makes you up your game just by reading it. Here's my favourite little quote from the book, 'Virtue is the roughest way but proves at night a bed of down,' Sir Henry Wooton Geoff gives tips on how to avoid what he calls the 'soap syndrome' (not gossiping about people) and just how detrimental that can be to your success. He talks alot about addictions and you know I love that subject which is why I'm on my 6th month of no alcohol (as an experiment for my prosperity project) Here's a taster from the book: 'There is the Kabbalah belief that all of our energy and power is locked into our addictions and once we kill those addictions we get all our energy and power back.' Interesting thought and a mesmerising read. Find it on Amazon.co.uk - not sure if you can get it elsewhere as an international reader but it's well worth seeking out. Geoff started his career as a floor sweeper in a factory and became a martial arts guru and is now a motivational speaker and published author of 20 plus books. Oh and he's also a BAFTA winner and screenwriter! Well if he can do it so can you ... in your own sweet way. I've been writing this as my girls are figuring out whether to have new hairstyles like Cat Deeley, Gwyneth Paltrow or Jessica Stroup! Ok I'm off to the hairdressers before they drive me round the bend. |
