This Week With Rachel

Hi

How are you doing? As I write I'm sneezing like a fiend. Have gone the whole winter in perfect health and just as Spring shows it's sunny face I'm attacked by the most ferocious fits of sneezing!

Don't you just hate those sneezes that feel like they are about to come but leave you wincing as you await them? Oh it's horrid. I get through one attack and finally get some relief with very loud and satisfying sneezes only for it to start all over again a few minutes later.

Last night I had to retire early in my sneezy state to read The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest. What a series of crime thrillers; I'm completely hooked. This is the 3rd in the trilogy and it doesn't seem to be as fast paced as the first 2 but I think it will pick up. If you're looking for a light but intense read go grab the first one.

In the mornings I'm reading Stephen Fry's Chronicles. Very entertaining and light reading all about his exploits at Cambridge Uni and how he became an actor and writer. I do enjoy a good auto-biography and in fact must get back to sharing my favourite books with you in the book review section I used to do. There is so much to share that I've neglected that lately.

This week I've whizzed up a short article for you on exactly how to create and where to submit your press releases to get highly targeted niche traffic to your website for just $1.  Check that out below and let me know how you get on.

As you may recall I launched the Niche Expert, my new internet guide last week and am excited about being able to easily share my knowledge and experience with so many more people through this step by step system.

If you've got questions before buying just email them through as I will be sending out a Q & A email soon as I've received quite a few.

That's it for now.I'm off to Jersey in the Channel Isles next Wednesday but will try to get the ezine out before I go as well as take some pics to show you how beautiful 'my island' is.

Yours in success

Rachel

How to Create Your Niche Marketing Online Press Release

Press Releases are easy to write because they should be short and to the point.  Even if you're not a very confident writer you can definitely come up with a press release that will generate targeted visitors to your website or offer.

A press release is a key component of any marketing campaign but for our Niche Expert purposes I'll be focussing on how to create and submit a press release online.

Creating Your Press Release

Your press release needs to be about something that is happening NOW! A new service, a new book, a new product or an upcoming event are good examples.  You can create a press release each time you add a new programme, service or product to your business. I created one for my new guide, The Niche Expert, and I'll use this as an example so you can model it and also submit it to the same PR service if you want:

The headline

A short and snappy attention grabbing headline works best. You might want to use your Niche expert keywords in the headline but only if it makes sense.  SEO (search engine optimisation keywords are important but never sacrifice the quality of your content to please the search engines)

The first paragraph

Announce here the details of your product or service. Even if you've been selling your product for years or offering the same service you can still do this. Simply find a new angle or add on a new bonus or free report to create interest and give you a focus for your story.

What's it all about?

Give some meaty details here. If you have existing copy on your website or marketing materials that is compelling and customer friendly, just adapt it for your press release.  As you can see on mine I've taken an extract of the copy from my sales page: http://www.NicheExpert.co and used it to explain more about the guide.  Ask yourself why you offer this service, product or event?

Who are you?

Establish yours and/or your company's credibility here. A quote from the author or creator of the product or service works very well here as in my example.

I also added in a testimonial for credibility and to add another voice in to the mix. Collecting testimonials from your happy customers is definitely a discipline to develop.

What value will the reader get?

You can list some more info and benefits here; I used the list format for easy reading as people often scan rather than read each word.

Call to action

Explain what they need to do to find out more about it.  I recommend always introducing your website visitors via a free special report, audio or video first. Leading them straight to a sales page doesn't work well unless they already know and trust you and are perhaps thinking of investing in your product or service.

Submitting your press release

I've used a couple of services in the past but for this one I've used: http://www.free-press-release.com/  it's a very simple process:

·        Register for a free account

Select which type of press release you want to submit. You can submit free, $1 or $30. In this case I selected the $1 and have had 384 hits in a couple of days which is pretty good for $1! My tracking and testing isn't all that it could be so I can't give you info on how many signed up for my free offer but my press release is whizzing around the web and bringing visitors to my offer.

·         Submit your press release by copying and pasting it into the relevant sections

·         Upload a suitable picture if you have one

·         Include the specific capture page where visitors can submit their details to receive your free offer or info about your event or product etc.

Golden rules of press releases

Always write them in the 3rd person so they sound like professional news stories.

Fit them on one page and make them short, snappy and interesting for the reader. This means focussing on the reader as much as possible and avoiding high pressure sales hype. This is a golden rule to bear in mind for all of your website and marketing copy.
