NEXT! Wow what a week it's been.
I've been a bit of a media celebrity these past few weeks.
Check out the new post here about being a shy online
expert cause it occurred to me that some of you
will be thinking you can't do this in a big way unless
you are EXTROVERT. Not the case so read what I have
to say about that HERE: Can you be a Shy Online Expert?
My radio interview went much better than I feared it might!
I'm always as real with you as I can be cause gurus are cool
but they're kind of hard to relate too right?
So I won't pretend that I wasn't a little bit scared of what
might come out of my big mouth live on air!
I turned up at the radio station and the producer and host
put me immediately at my ease. They were so NICE and
interested.
I took my own advice and was completely ME - on steriods
in fact. You can hear some of my 'life' story and the interview
and also tune into our conversation about The Niche Expert.
I guarantee you haven't heard all my secrets yet and I'm a bit
of a rebel so you might be surprised to hear how I started out:

It's only up there for a few days so listen before it's taken

You'll learn a lot about how to position yourself in the media
and even more if you're an aspiring or published author.
This 'putting yourself out there' can be scary but start small
and build up. I spoke for the first time LIVE on my Niche Expert
Topic the other week and I learned SO much from the experience
so it's well worth doing.
Many of you won't know that although I was gathering the
expertise for years I only actually put the Niche Expert brand
together less than a year ago so it's exciting how far YOU
can come when you create YOUR plan and IMPLEMENT.
I'd done quite a bit of presenting and speaking with my
Network Marketing business but to be honest for the past
few years I've been learning my craft as an online
trainer & author so haven't been OUT there in the flesh on stage in
front of a crowd for a while.
Here's me speaking on my favourite
'Niche Expert' topic at my good friend Phill Turner's
Product Creation Academy in London last week:
A huge tip I have for you is when you get on a roll ie in my
case I was featured in several newspapers, got my own
home business radio show and invited to the
BBC radio interview I then MAXIMISED this by phoning
Waterstones - the huge high street book store in the UK
and I told them about the buzz around my book.
I positioned myself as someone who is ready to serve ie;
answer questions about my topic and IMMEDIATELY
got a book signing event in their busy store in my local town
on a Saturday.
They are advertising the event for me (see how you leverage)
and stocking my book in their shop as well as on the national
website.
Do you see how you can apply this to your own PR campaign.
Think out the box cause it's not necessarily about having a book
to promote.
It's about doing a huge 90 day marketing plan which starts to pay
off with you planting seeds all over the place and then when
you feel the momentum kicking in YOU help turn the wheels
by picking up the phone or connecting with the influencers who
can help you.
The fear dissipates as you move through each step I promise
so when a great thing happens (new client, new opportunity,
new whatever ... think 'what can I do now to maximise?'
while you are feeling strong.
Just being honest and this is how it works for me and I know
it will help you too. We are not strong 24/7 - we all need
to work on that.
