I hear a lot of talk about passion based businesses and following your passion.
Whilst I'm all about honouring your passions I've noticed there is one key missing ingredient for many entrepreneurs following their passion.
And it's usually not hard work.
Many business owners work very hard but often focus on the wrong things.
Most entrepreneurs are willing to put in the work and have oodles of passion.
What they lack is knowledge and understanding of their niche market.
Whilst I'm all about honouring your passions I've noticed there is one key missing ingredient for many entrepreneurs following their passion.
And it's usually not hard work.
Many business owners work very hard but often focus on the wrong things.
Most entrepreneurs are willing to put in the work and have oodles of passion.
What they lack is knowledge and understanding of their niche market.
Or in many cases they don't even have a niche market because they're are so passionate, they believe 'everyone' needs what they have.
And maybe they do.
But it's extremely difficult to market to everyone and usually you end up attracting your less than perfect clients with this approach.
If you haven't taken the time and got the real business experience to know who your perfect client is then it's highly unlikely you'll know how to reach them.
And if you don't know who they are how can you craft a marketing message that resonates with them enough to compel them to make an investment with you?
