How to get help with your online marketing without losing control of your business

March 5th 2014 Ezine - Issue #178
Hi
I'm so excited to be leaping into Spring and am happy to share that yesterday
was the first time since last Autumn I've been out without my coat on!
featured in The Wall Street Journal as an expert contributor.
A year ago he couldn't be found on the search engines and now he's taking
calls from The Wall Street Journal, if you please!
Pretty sweet ... being recognised as an expert on your
topic is what happens for you when you get strategic with your content
creation and brand.
These kinds of claim to fame although to some may seem superficial, are game-changing for your credibility and positioning in your market place.
So in this week's challenge (below) we look at how to get the help you need
with your online marketing without kissing goodbye to control of your business.
This topic is perfect for those with a tendency toward doing everything themselves
and being a control freak. (I'm a reforming one so am very well qualified to
write about this!)
Love and success

The Challenge - How To Get Help With Your Online Marketing Without Losing Control Of Your Business
This week's challenge is also available to listen to or download in audio format here at the blog as well as at my podcast channel so be sure to subscribe if you want more via your device.
As a solo professional or director of a small company, the topic of whether you should go the DIY route or get help with your branding and marketing is a timely one in this new digital world.
When you're starting out it's tempting to try to do it all yourself and sometimes that can be a great way to go.
I know that's not what you'll usually hear from the gurus. They tend to say things like, 'outsource it all,' and 'don't waste your time on that.'
The big problem I've found with that approach is that you can feel like your marketing system is completely out of your control. (And it usually is)
I'm not saying that I recommend you become a Wordpress expert when your core brilliance is as a coach, consultant, speaker or therapist, but if you don't know how to log into your website you'll be heading for trouble one of these fine days.
On the other hand you don't want to invest a ton of time, effort and energy into building your website rather than focusing on getting clients and delivering your expertise.
So it's a fine line with a big black pothole either side of it.
By the left pothole the sign says - 'Beware! You can't get back your lost time.'
By the right, 'Beware! Don't give away control of your marketing to someone else.'
